Overview and Investment Strategy
The relationship between media and technology impacts individuals at both a local and global level; these ‘consumers’ remain the largest drivers of economic spending. Broad adoption of digital media requires an evolution of existing business models for delivery, measurement and consumption. Once these issues are addressed, there exists a massive opportunity to develop and export these innovations to multiple markets as globalization and interconnectivity will decrease the time required to achieve broad adoption and appeal.
Internet penetration, cost efficient computing power, and smart phones (iPhone, BlackBerry) have created a platform for the next wave of media and technology businesses. Existing inefficiencies faced by major media companies and their technology providers require immediate attention to meet demand and ensure survival. The instability in traditional corporations creates a unique incentive and environment for smart entrepreneurs to develop and commercialize new technologies.
The Firm has formed a Fund to leverage its proprietary deal sourcing from deep relationships, industry contacts, and relevant experience in order to capitalize on the growing and emerging media and technology business models as described above. The Firm believes that it has the ability to create tangible economic value while improving the quality of life for the consumer.
